We offer clinics on lead climbing, lead belaying, anchor setting, repelling, route setting, and climbing technique. The clinics are free to RCC members and $5 to any interested community members. The majority of clinics are held at the SOU Climbing Gym Friday nights or Saturday mornings.
The RCC has most all of its own equipment. The equipment is available for club members to check out once they have been cleared by the RCC acting officers.
Requirements
All RCC members are obligated to volunteer within the Ashland community a minimum of 10 hours per term. Which, is approximetly 1 hour per week throughout the whole term. The only other requirements are: each member must have a positive attitude and be willing to climb with the different levels and abilities of club members.
Cost
The RCC cost's $20 per term. We can bill your student account if you would like or you can give us $20 cash. Also, if a member volunteers above and beyond the required hours he/she can petition for a discount on his/her following terms membership cost.
Bennefits
All members receive the following: a RCC T-Shirt (each term is different), a free term pass to the SOU Climbing Gym, a discount at Rogue Rock Gym, and more discounts to be announced.
Trips
One of the for most goals of the climbing club is to perform as a resource for all climbers to be able to go climbing outside. Therefore, one of our main efforts is to not only plan trips, but also to bring climbers together so they can get outside and climb. We are building a database of all the local climbers we know, and we will be making a mailing list for all club members to use. RCC members will be able to send out an emial on Friday night to everyone in the database, and then hopefully have a group of climbers to go climbing with on Saturday.
Since the RCC has attained its own equipment the only costs incurred for a RCC trip are food and gas, and for most of the local climbing the only real cost is gas. Therefor we can offer a lot of trips durring the term for very little cost, which gets everyone outside climb, and that makes all our members happy and smiling.

SOU Wavier
Members of the SOU Rock Climbing Club must be aware of the inherent risks of the sport. Before participating in any activity, every member is personally responsible for understanding and accepting the risks and physical demands of a particular climbing area. Trip participants must know basic wilderness safety practices, signals and expedition etiquette appropriate for each climbing areas specific needs. No officer, advisor, or member is responsible for the decisions of other individuals. Participation in any trip is a privilege of membership, not a right. Safety is the first concern in any of our adventures.
