White Salmon Rafting in Washington

Husum Falls on the White Salmon

The White Salmon River in Southern Washington is certainly a Northwest classic river. White Salmon rafting has become a must-do for any boaters in the area. There are a few different sections of the White Salmon, but the one I am going to talk about is known simply as the BZ Corner Stretch.

Other stretches of the White Salmon are:
• Cascade Creek to Trout Lake ("Mt. Adams Section")
• Warner Rd. to Green Truss ("Farmlands")
• Green Truss to BZ Corner (The Upper")

The BZ Corner Stretch of the White Salmon is probably the most popular rafting trip in Southern Washington. It runs year-round due to underground springs that always supply adequate water for the run. This stretch of the White Salmon is approximately seven miles long and drops an average of 45 feet per mile. The majority of rapids are class II and III, and Husum Falls is generally IVish but does not have to be run (you can take out right above it).

To get to the put-in for the White Salmon's BZ Corner run, simply drive through the town of White Salmon and continue North BZ Corner. Once there, you will notice a large parking lot on the right. This is the launch site. There is an AWESOME boat ramp here that leads down the long trail to the river. The take-out is either immediately above Husum Falls on the right, or immediately after on the left.
